Now Hiring: 1st Class Shipfitters – $38/hr + $180 Per Diem | Pascagoula, MS

Pay & Benefits:

• $38.00 per hour
• $180.00 daily per diem
• Weekly pay
• 40–70 hours per week
• Overtime available

Location: Pascagoula, MS
Shifts Available:

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
• Evening Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
• Schedule: Monday through Friday (some weekends as needed)

Job Overview:

As a 1st Class Shipfitter, you'll be responsible for the layout, fitting, and fabrication of structural components on Navy and commercial vessels. You will work from blueprints to assemble steel and aluminum parts including bulkheads, decks, frames, and other structural assemblies. Shipfitters must be capable of precision work in confined spaces, at heights, and in all weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
• Perform layout and fit-up of structural components with tight tolerances
• Tack weld and burn with cutting torches as needed for assembly
• Assemble hulls, frames, and other components using strongbacks, wedges, dogs, and chainfalls
• Ensure quality and dimensional accuracy throughout the installation process
• Follow all safety procedures and shipyard regulations

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a 1st Class Shipfitter in a shipyard environment
• Skilled in blueprint reading, layout, and structural assembly techniques
• Must pass a hands-on assessment for layout, fitting, and tack welding
• Comfortable working in physically demanding environments, including at heights and in confined spaces

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $38.00 - $39.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• 8 hour shift

Experience:

• ShipFiiting: 3 years (Required)

Ability to Commute:

• Pascagoula, MS 39568 (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Pascagoula, MS 39568: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
