Essential Job Functions :
- Customarily and regularly trains and directs the work of at least two or more other full-time employees or their equivalent to ensure their assigned duties are done correctly, efficiently, and responsibly
- Makes suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of assigned employees
- Trains and supervises assigned personal, prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work produced
- Maintain a good working relation with co-workers and outside companies that work with the Zook Molasses or represent our company
- Order materials and supplies required for the department
- Monitor inventories to ensure adequacy of supply
- Ultimately responsible for orders and/or product being processed correctly and on time
- Communicates with the Plant Manager regarding department operations status on a regular basis
- Completes any paperwork / production reports in a timely manner and forwards to appropriate individual
- Measures and reports the effectiveness of department activities
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production demands as dictated by production schedules and workflow.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations
- Recommends measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance
- Continuously improves production operations through the use of lean enterprise practices
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments and serving internal customers
- Responsible for maintaining quality, authentic, safe, and legal products.
- Any other duties as requested directed or assigned by the manager
Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Manages and directs assigned personnel. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws
- Responsibilities include safety, participating in interviewing and hiring; training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and providing continual feedback on both positive and negative performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems and maintaining accurate attendance records

Job Requirements
Education and Experience (Licenses and Certifications):
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years supervisory of experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to other company locations.
Equipment to Be Used:
- Any equipment associated with assigned department.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work well with ever changing priorities and or situations
- Ability to plan and think ahead over a 3 month to 1-year time span
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Computer proficient
- Ability to measure performance to company goals and standards and establish targets for improvements in safety, quality cost, delivery and employee relations
- Ability to understand and interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form as they pertain to production
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers and customers
- Ability to work under stress with interruptions and deadlines
- Ability to think logically in following procedures and instructions
- Ability to master basic reading, writing, and mathematic abilities
- Any additional specialized safety or other training required
Essential Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking, using tools and performing repetitive actions
- Must be able to lift to 50lbs with help
- Visual acuity to read instructions and operate machines

Working Hours:
- Standard workday Monday through Friday and as necessary to complete the requirements of the position
- Overtime may be required, and hours are subject to change based on company needs
