Job Description

Newman University, a mission-driven, catholic, liberal arts university, is recruiting adjuncts to teach courses and/or supervise students within the clinical setting with an emphasis on simulation-based methodologies for our Nursing program and during the 2025-2026 academic year. Minimum qualifications include at least a BSN degree.

Responsibilities:

  1. Teach courses appropriate to academic qualifications. 
  2. Maintain high standards as teachers and engaging students in laboratory and/or clinical educational settings.
  3. Inform students of their progress by promptly returning graded assignments, quizzes, and examinations with appropriate feedback.
  4. Utilize the Learning Management Systems, i.e. Canvas, and other technology as appropriate.
  5. Develop and maintain clinical education content for assigned course(s).
  6. Supervise clinical activities effectively and assess educational outcomes appropriately.
  7. Consult with the Dean or Nursing Program Director regarding concerns.
  8. Complete university-required training courses and other duties as assigned.
 

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor in nursing required; Master in nursing preferred.
  2. Experience in clinical education preferred.
  3. Experience in adult medical surgical nursing required.
  4. Must hold a current Kansas professional nursing license.
  5. Must pass background check and drug screening.
  6. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
