The Staff and Volunteer Coordinator will develop and implement an innovative plan to attract and hire outstanding and diverse candidates with demonstrated potential to become high-performing employees. Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, this individual will assist in the new hire process, coordinate one-time and ongoing volunteer activities, and assist with donor stewardship activities.
What you’ll do:
- Uphold the mission of the YMCA and demonstrate behaviors that reflect a determined, nurturing, genuine, hopeful, and welcoming nature.
- Develop a strategic way to make sure that we are investing in our people and staff to the best of our ability.
- Proactively source new teammates using innovative methods that include social networking, research, job boards, targeted direct calls, and networking—Get to know our community and the best practices for recruitment
- Responsible for the onboarding process for new candidates, including phone screens, scheduling interviews, guiding new hires through the new hire process, delivering branch new employee orientation, ensuring all staff training is completed on time, and interacting with hiring managers and the HR department.
- Responsible for coordinating one-time volunteers and ongoing volunteers and board members.
- Responsible for staff, volunteer, and donor appreciation activities.
- Completes required abuse risk management training. Adheres to policies and procedures related to appropriate boundaries with children. Follows mandated abuse reporting requirements to authorities.
