What we need:

The Assistant General Counsel is a high-level leader who works closely with the General Counsel and legal team to provide legal advice and support to the organization. This role involves handling a wide range of legal matters, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and managing legal risks. Primary legal counsel to Daltile, a subsidiary of Mohawk Industries, Inc., based in Dallas, Texas. This position is responsible for managing Daltile’s various legal matters. This position will work directly with Daltile’s executive team on a regular basis.

What you’ll do:

• Attend weekly executive leadership team staff meetings and advise Daltile’s executive leadership team on various matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate agreements, including strategic supply and equipment purchase contracts, sales agreements, logistics agreements, consulting agreements, leases, software licenses, IT service agreements, privacy, and confidentiality agreements.
• Work with Daltile’s Senior Director of Real Estate and Construction and advise on all real estate matters including leases and real estate sales agreements.
• Support M&A activity that relates directly to Daltile.
• Provide practical legal advice to Daltile employees on contracts, dispute resolution, legal risk, and best practices on a variety of topics.
• Review marketing materials, warranties, and other internal and external documents for legal compliance.
• Work with internal staff to oversee contract management.
• Identify and implement improvements to contracting processes, including development of form contracts, checklists, contract process flows and business training.
• Complete special assignments at the request of the executive leadership team.
• Stay up to date on developing legal issues.
• Provide analysis of legal and policy issues.
• Perform such other duties as required.

What you have:

• Minimum of JD degree from an accredited law school.
• 6 to 8 years legal experience in top tier law firm and/or corporate law department.
• Ability to provide counsel and guidance on complex legal questions and inquiries.
• Understands business and appreciates the culture that exists within an organization and the reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures.
• Experience working with limited supervision.

Additional Information:

• Up to 25% travel required for candidates located in Calhoun Office.
