Job Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as WMATA's representative for the assigned task orders with responsibilities for all phases
  • of the project;
  • Ensure all required tasks are performed on time and within budget;
  • Engage specifically in planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety,
  • and coordination of subcontractors and internal technical and support staff;
  • Manage stakeholder relationships;
  • Develop project scopes, prepare reports, develop, and maintain schedules and budgets, and
  • ensure quality reviews are complete;
  • Identify scheduling, cost variances, and make recommendations for corrective action for negative
  • variances; and
  • Resolve issues with contractors in a timely manner and ensure that all aspects of the task order
  • remain on schedule and within budget.

Requirements

Background and Experience Required

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in transit and transportation projects;
  • A minimum of three (3) years working on a multiple task order contract;
  • Successful completion of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Construction Course;
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of project management, to coordinate, review and provide expert technical management for the assigned task orders;
  • Knowledge of project controls, including critical path method scheduling and budgetary control systems;
  • Ability to independently organize and carry out assignments with minimum direction as well as ability to function effectively as a leader of highly professional personnel; and
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

Benefits

1099 Rate Range: $85 – $110

Location: WMATA New Carrollton Office Building, 4100 Garden City Dr, Hyattsville, MD 20785 (Full-Time, 18 months (subject to renewal) - Hybrid, 2 days a week)

Work Hours: The normal work hours will be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
