Location: Austin, TX

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced BIM Specialist to join our dynamic engineering team. This role is pivotal in driving the implementation of BIM solutions to optimize project workflows, enhance interdisciplinary collaboration, and ensure the delivery of high-quality engineering designs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise as a BIM Specialist or in a comparable role within the AEC/Engineering industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in BIM software applications (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360).
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, design practices, and construction methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional certification in BIM management or related disciplines (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
  • Experience with project management software and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design principles and LEED certification standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • BIM Implementation & Standardization:
    • Lead the strategic integration of BIM technology across all phases of engineering projects.
    • Develop and maintain comprehensive BIM execution plans, including standards, protocols, and best practices.
  • Model Development & Management:
    • Generate, manage, and update intricate 3D models across various engineering disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.), ensuring accuracy, detail, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Collaboration & Coordination:
    • Foster effective communication and collaboration among project stakeholders (architects, engineers, contractors, etc.) through the utilization of coordinated BIM models.
    • Conduct clash detection and resolution sessions to proactively identify and mitigate design conflicts.
  • Training & Mentorship:
    • Provide comprehensive training and mentorship to team members on BIM software, workflows, and best practices.
    • Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for addressing BIM-related inquiries and challenges.
  • Project Lifecycle Support:
    • Contribute to project planning and scheduling activities, with a focus on BIM deliverables and milestones.
    • Monitor project progress to ensure adherence to established timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance & Control:
    • Implement rigorous quality assurance and control measures to ensure BIM models adhere to industry standards and project requirements.
    • Generate comprehensive documentation and reports to track BIM performance metrics and identify areas for optimization.
  • Industry Best Practices & Innovation:
    • Maintain a current understanding of industry trends, advancements in BIM technologies, and emerging best practices.
    • Proactively recommend and implement innovative solutions to continuously improve BIM processes and workflows.

Work Environment

This role may require both office-based work and on-site field visits, necessitating flexibility and adaptability to diverse project environments.
