Job Description
This position is responsible for coordinating purchasing for Minneapolis College materials, supplies, services, and equipment. This position is responsible for assisting in defining the department?s needs through specification development and value analysis. This position is also responsible for ensuring the proper administration of the State of Minnesota, Minnesota State, and the Minneapolis College purchasing policies and procedures.This position also has responsibility to ensure that the College?s fixed asset inventory practices comply with MinnState policy.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Lead Purchasing System trainings for end users in all departments. Training involves working with employees at all levels and developing superior interpersonal relationships with departments within the College.
Manage purchasing card activity. Order new cards, complete card changes and account closures. Assist all P-Card holders with account questions and resolution of refunds for sales tax payments and fraudulent charges. Prepare weekly activity report for the college P-Card transactions and save on the shared drive for the Accounting Technician to reference and prepare for payment.
Work closely with college personnel to identify the appropriate use of contracts and to create and maintain those contracts. Coordinates with employees of the College to collect a variety of data required to develop contracts.
Direct and manage all College fixed asset activities and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
Excellent communication skills in communicating with staff related to policies and procedures related to purchasing and contracts.
Sufficient in interpersonal/human relations skills to establish effective working relationships with managers, staff, and vendors.
Strong computer experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and more.
Knowledgeable of inventory control methods in tracking assets.
Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of cultural fluency. Incorporates culturally responsive practices, and actively engages in antiracism professional development learning opportunities.

Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College for consideration.

Pay Range
Buy 1: $23.63 ? $34.18 hourly / $49,339 ? $71,368 annually.
