Job Description

We are seeking a Calibration Service Manager to join our Lab team at Aldinger Co, a leading calibration services provider. 

As the Calibration Service Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our lab calibration operation. This position manages a team of Calibration Technicians and Assistant Service Managers and will report to the Calibrations Director. In this position, quality experience, customer focus and leadership capabilities are mandatory.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee the daily operations of the lab calibration process, including prioritizing workflows, managing staff schedules, and optimizing operational efficiency. 
  • Supervise the technicians’ activities to ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols and standards. 
  • Ensure that technicians are thoroughly trained and consistently perform accurate calibrations and repairs in line with corporate quality requirements. 
  • Collaborate with Sales Personnel to drive profitable revenue for the lab by identifying and developing new business opportunities, including pricing standards, cost justification (ROI), and training requirements. 
  • Develop and manage budgets alongside continuous improvement plans to enhance lab performance. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, effectively communicating the value of our services, understanding client needs, and fostering long-term relationships. 
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction levels by delivering timely and effective solutions to inquiries and concerns. 
  • Ensure all customer and employee issues are promptly addressed and resolved through professional communication. 
  • Maintain a safe and positive work environment. 
  • Partner with corporate to manage recruitment, training, workload management, performance reviews, and conflict resolution for the team. 

Requirements

  • 3+ years of supervisory or management experience, preferably in a similar business or service-related industry 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities 
  • Strong knowledge of calibration policies, procedures, methodologies 
  • Proven experience in calibration, maintenance, or repair of measuring instruments or equipment
  • Familiar with using calibration equipment, tools, and instruments
  • Working knowledge of quality documents such as ANZI/NCSL Z540-1, ISO 17025, ISO 9000, ISO 16949 a plus 
  • Excellent presentation, written, and personal communication skills 
  • Experience managing internal income statements 
  • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills with PC proficiency 
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service and experience building customer relationships in past positions
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members, management, and customers
  • The ability to think creatively, take initiative, multitask and manage projects under pressure 
  • Identify best practices and bring innovation to the work environment 
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to support the business
