Purpose and Scope:
Meet all cargo transportation requirements on a military installation. This position is in support of the Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) and is located at Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF).
Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare cargo (to include mail cargo) for designated airlift and sealift transportation to and from AAAF and provide cargo unloading and delivery services at AAAF.
Perform all tasks to include storage, maintenance, packaging, and handling IAW DAFI 24-602 V2, DTR 4500.9-R, Parts 2 & 3; AFMAN 24-604; AFJMAN 23-210, International Air Transportation Association (IATA) agreement, and International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Act to include classified- package handling.
Prepare, palletize, document, and deliver all cargo (including cargo shipment support for other mission support Contractors) and appropriate documentation to the Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) for air and sealift transportation to include classified-package handling.
Other duties as necessary.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Minimum 2 years’ experience with similar duties.
High school diploma or equivalent training & experience.
Ability to read and write English is required.
Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.
Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.
Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.
Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN).
Possess a valid passport from their country have ability to obtain a work visa.
Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies.
Able to lift, carry, and push supplies and boxes up to 50 pounds.
Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.
Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
