Job Description

Purpose and Scope:

Meet all cargo transportation requirements of the program and support the mission of the Ascension Island Auxiliary Airfield (AAAF). Position is located at Patrick Space Force Base (PSFB) in Brevard County, Florida.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Pick up and transport cargo from PSFB U.S. Post Office (USPO) to the Contractor designated holding area.

• Receive package deliveries from UPS, DHL, FEDEX, etc.

• Pick-up, sort, and deliver CONUS-bound cargo to the PSFB USPO and Official Mail Center.

• Prepare cargo (to include mail cargo) for designated airlift and sealift transportation to and from AAAF.

• Prepare cargo bags for consolidation on shipping skids.

• Prepare shipping skids and deliver them to PSFB air terminal.

• Ensure supply discrepancies, inclusive of item, packaging, and documentation errors, discovered during cargo movement operations and attributable to the responsibility of the shipper are reported.

• Prepare appropriate documentation to the Logistics Readiness Squadron (LRS) for air and sealift transportation to include classified-package handling.

• Other duties as necessary.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience with similar duties.

• High school diploma or equivalent training & experience.

• Ability to read and write English is required.

• Must be a USN to fill this position.

• Solid communications skills, strong interpersonal skills.

• Strong ability to work as a member of a diverse, dynamic team.

• Outstanding problem-solving skills and sound judgment.

• Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.

• Ability to successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

• Able to stand for long periods of time such as eight (8) to ten (10) hours, bend, kneel, and reach to store/retrieve supplies.

• Basic physical requirements include walking, bending, stooping, stretching, climbing, running, and lifting up to 100 pounds.

• Living and working conditions at the assignment location could be remote and uncomfortable.

• Long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

• Personnel should be aware of moving on short notice and under adverse conditions.

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
