Current Shifts Available: 

Days 6am-6pm 
Nights 6pm-6am

We are currently only hiring for full time, 36 hours per week and 12-hour shifts. 

A Typical Day:

As a CNA at On With Life, you become part of the journey each person served takes, making memories with them along the way. We are a unique non-traditional long term care program that cares for a variety of ages specializing in brain injury, spinal cord, and neurological conditions. Under licensed nurse supervision and in partnership with other members of the transdisciplinary rehabilitation team, CNAs play a key role in helping our persons served maintain the highest quality of life by providing direct and personalized care, including:

• activities of daily living, including meals, socializing and activities
• range of motion exercises as ordered by therapists
• transfers with and without use of various lifts, as indicated
• identifying and reporting vital information and findings to designated nursing staff
• implementing and performing various levels of cares and safety checks

As a designated Top Workplace for over a decade, we understand the importance of work/life balance! That’s why we offer flexible schedules and shift lengths - from as little as PRN all the way to 40 hours/week – in addition to weekend-only options.

Each part-time and full-time schedule requires a holiday rotation (with special holiday pay) and an every 3rd weekend rotation (if not a weekends-only schedule). Our PRN requirement is 16 hours per 4-week schedule, 4 of which must be on weekends. As part of completing the application, you will be asked to specify the hours you are interested in.  IMPORTANT: Please note that our orientation process (typically up to 1 month) may require working days or shifts outside of your permanent schedule.

CNA positions start at $17/hour, with our most experienced staff making up to $24/hour. We pay a 9% differential on your hourly rate for all hours worked between 2pm and 10pm, and 11% for all hours worked between 10pm and 6am. We offer annual raises based on budget capacity, and part-time/full-time employees have the opportunity for a discretionary bonus at your annual anniversary.

• Positions regularly scheduled less than 24 hours per week: $3,000
• Positions regularly scheduled at least 24 but less than 36 hours per week: $4,000
• Positions regularly scheduled 36 or more hours per week: $5,000

Job Requirements:

• Current certification to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Iowa (active on the Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry)
• Ability to maintain CPR certification (if you do not have this already, we will pay for it)
• Must be 18 to apply due to age requirement to operate mechanical lifts 
• We are currently looking for full time day or night positions.
