Position Overview:  As the Civil Superintendent, you will be the point person for the day-to-day management of civil construction projects. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring that projects stay on schedule, are completed to the highest standards, and are executed in the most efficient manner possible. You will be our first line of defense against delays, inefficiency, and hazardous site conditions, and a vital part of the team that anticipates and resolves challenges before they escalate.

You will oversee subcontractors, communicate with clients, and report back to our management team, ensuring smooth project execution from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight:  

  • Supervise and direct all field operations and activities.

Efficiency & Scheduling:

  • Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget by managing subcontractor performance effectively, timelines, and resources.

Problem Anticipation:  

  • Proactively identify potential issues or delays before they arise and help implement effective solutions to keep the project on track.

Safety & Compliance:  

  • Maintain high standards of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with all safety protocols, regulations, and quality expectations.

Communication & Reporting:  

  • Serve as the main point of contact for the management team, clients, and subcontractors, providing clear and concise updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.

Subcontractor Management:  

  • Lead, direct, and support a variety of subcontractors, ensuring work is completed according to the project plan, specifications, and safety guidelines.

Flexibility:  

  • Be adaptable to changing job schedules, locations, and evolving project requirements.

Qualifications:

Must Have :  

  • 5+ years of experience in civil construction
  • 3 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.

Leadership Skills:  

  • Strong ability to lead, direct, and motivate.

Problem-Solving:  

  • Ability to foresee potential issues and come up with effective solutions.

Communication:  

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Technical Knowledge:  

  • In-depth understanding of civil construction means, methods, and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of web-based construction programs a plus (Procore).

Self-Sufficient Leader:  

  • A proactive, independent, and results-driven leader who can manage multiple priorities and make decisions without constant oversight.

Adaptability:  

  • Willingness to adapt to shifting schedules, project scopes, and work locations as required.

Safety Certification:  

  • Relevant safety certifications required, including but not limited to, EM-385-1-1 Certification and OSHA 30
