Location: Projects in Woodstock, Hartford, Quechee, West Lebanon & nearby areas
Schedule: Full-time, Year-round Opportunities
Pay: $23 - $35/hour (based on experience) + Overtime + Bonus Opportunities

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will be passionate about preserving the health and beauty of trees while ensuring the safety of our clients' properties and the public. As an Arborist Climber, you will be responsible for performing a variety of arboricultural tasks, including pruning, trimming, and removing trees and large shrubs. This physically demanding role requires a high level of technical proficiency in climbing and rigging, as well as a comprehensive understanding of tree biology and identification. A commitment to adhering to industry safety standards is paramount.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform tree pruning and trimming in accordance with ANSI A300 standards to improve tree health, structure, and aesthetics.
  • Safely execute tree removals, including felling and technical rigging to dismantle trees in a controlled manner, especially in confined spaces.
  • Employ advanced climbing techniques and operate specialized equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
  • Conduct tree risk assessments to identify potential hazards such as disease, pests, and structural weaknesses.
  • Install and maintain support systems, including cables and bracing, to enhance tree stability.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborate effectively with ground crew to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain all climbing gear and equipment in a safe and operational condition.
  • Communicate professionally with clients to understand their needs and provide expert advice on tree care.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
  • Ability to work outdoors year-round
  • Attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Willingness to earn a Commercial Pesticide Applicator License (within 90 days)

Preferred:

  • Experience in landscaping, arboriculture, or plant healthcare
  • Coursework or degree in Arboriculture, Forestry, or related field
  • ISA Certified Arborist or Licensed Pest Applicator a plus
