Job Summary:

The Stowe Rocks Climbing Center is actively seeking Climbing Center Guides. Climbing Center Guides provide orientation and coaching to Stowe Rocks Climbing Center clients with technical knowledge of climbing and any other recreational opportunity Stowe Rocks Climbing Center offers. Climbing Center Guides inspect climbing equipment and terrain, supervise the climbing center, and is a climbing resource for clients. Climbing Center Guides must be able to communicate professionally, must be comfortable providing hands-on assistance, and must be able to survey the climbing area on a routine basis. Climbing Guides are certified internally to set up and operate technical adaptive climbing systems and perform technical rescues. In addition to operating the climbing center, Climbing Guides operate the other Stowe Rocks Climbing Center programs that include but are not limited to the adaptive climbing ACE program.

 

Job Specifications 

  • Outlet: Stowe Rocks Climbing Center

  • Expected Pay Range: $20.00 - $21.36 / hour

  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full and Part Time 

    • Tuesday to Sunday

  • Skill Level: Entry Level 

 

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be guest-service oriented.
  • Must have minimum first aid qualifications including current CPR and accredited Basic First Aid certifications.
  • Ability to work at height.
  • Ability to learn and to demonstrate technical rope work, and to use and demonstrate the use of climbing equipment such as carabiners, belay devices, pulleys, lanyards, etc.
  • Visual acuity necessary to inspect and monitor equipment and operations.
  • Good communication skills, both with coworkers and guests.
  • Successfully completed Stowe Rocks Climbing Center Technical Rescue Training.
  • Successfully completed Stowe Rocks Climbing Center ACE Program Training.

The expected pay range is $20.00 - $21.36. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
