Mativ is currently seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our Cloud Engineering team. As a member of the Cloud Engineering Team, you will assist in the day-to-day management of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability of our systems and contribute to the modernizing our processes and platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for a student looking to gain hands-on experience with cloud technologies, develop their technical skills, tackle complex problems through collaboration and contribute to a dynamic team with a global reach.

 

The Mativ Summer Internship Program is scheduled to start on May 19, 2025 – August 8, 2025. Our paid internship offers a well-rounded experience including: meaningful work, dedicated intern manager, community service, professional development and more.

 

responsibilities 

  • Assist in optimizing, managing and monitoring cloud resources (e.g., virtual
  • machines, storage, networks) using tools like Azure Portal, AWS Management Console, or Google Cloud Console.
  • Perform routine tasks such as ensuring that backup and recovery activities complete successfully, help define the patch management processes and help define lifecycle processes for\ our cloud-based and on-prem systems.Familiarity with products like Veeam or Azure Backup is preferred.
  • Work closely with the teams that troubleshoot issues related to cloud infrastructure, working closely with the team to resolve problems quickly and efficiently.Bring a user-centric perspective on our ITSM and ticket management processes
  • Be a liaison with our Cybersecurity Team and assist in implementing security measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Contribute to our Culture of Documentation by developing and documentation of cloud infrastructure architecture and configuration and processes.

qualifications:

Required: 

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Basic understanding of virtualization concepts (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud computing principles (e.g., IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
  • Familiarity with security best practices, backup and recovery methods, and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Light scripting experience in languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.

Preferred

  • Experience with cloud providers (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) and related services.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Git, Terraform, Docker)
