Description Coastal Mechanical, a Rogers Building Solutions business unit, is one of the largest mechanical contractors in the Southeast and we are seeking a motivated and eager-to-learn Construction Management Intern for a full-time summer internship. This position is ideal for someone looking to start a career in the construction industry and gain exposure to a variety of departments including mechanical contracting, estimating, project management, accounting, and more. As an intern, you will have the chance to shadow and learn from experienced professionals, gaining practical knowledge in a supportive, hands-on environment.
Requirements - Shadowing & Learning: Observe and learn from various departments, including mechanical contracting, estimating, project management, and accounting, to gain a well-rounded understanding of construction management.
- Estimating Assistance: Learn how to assist with preparing basic project estimates by observing how cost evaluations and bids are prepared.
- Field Observations: Accompany project managers and team members to construction sites to observe daily activities, learn about safety protocols, and understand the installation of mechanical systems.
- General Administrative Support: Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, managing emails, scheduling meetings, and preparing meeting notes.
Learning Opportunities: - Gain valuable experience in the construction industry, learning how each department contributes to the success of projects.
- Develop an understanding of mechanical systems and their installation in construction projects.
- Learn how to manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Gain exposure to the tools, software, and techniques used in construction management and mechanical contracting.
- Receive mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals, setting the foundation for a future career in construction management.
Requirements: - Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field at an accredited college/university.
- No prior experience required—just a strong desire to learn and develop your skills in construction management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Positive attitude, eager to learn, and motivated to contribute to the team.

Essential Functions: - Climbing up and down ladders
- Ability to Read, Speak, comprehend, and write in English
- Bending, Stooping, lifting up to 10 lbs
- Able to ambulate through the building to interact with other departments

- See and hear well with or without correction to avoid safety hazards to themselves and others.
