About the Role:
AJ Bright Construction is seeking an experienced Senior On-Site Construction Superintendent to lead a complex, multi-phase renovation and expansion project at the UniFirst commercial laundry facility in Durham, NC. With a project timeline of two years and a scope that includes structural additions, underground utilities, and critical facility upgrades—all within an active plant environment—this position is ideal for a confident leader with exceptional coordination, safety, and quality control skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Led all on-site construction efforts for a multi-phase, active facility renovation and expansion project.
• Serve as the highest authority on safety and quality on the job site.
• Coordinate day-to-day operations with subcontractors, vendors, and site staff.
• Maintain and update the construction schedule to ensure milestones and deadlines are met.
• Use Procore software daily for logs, documentation, and communication.
• Monitor project progress and report regularly to the Project Manager and Owner.
• Uphold site cleanliness, organization, and OSHA compliance.
• Troubleshoot challenges as they arise and resolve issues efficiently to minimize disruptions.
• Ensure all project work aligns with technical specifications, permitting, and code requirements.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Construction Superintendent, preferably in commercial or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of job site logistics, subcontractor management, and sequencing of trades.
• OSHA 10 Certification (preferred).
• Proficiency in project management software (Procore preferred) and mobile technology.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to interpret construction plans, contracts, and specifications.
• Proven record of completing projects on time and within budget.

Project Overview:

You will oversee the renovation and expansion of a high-traffic commercial laundry facility, including:

• Earthwork, site utilities, and stormwater systems
• Tilt-up concrete panels, steel framing, and mezzanines
• Roofing, storefronts, and major loading dock additions
• Full mechanical, electrical, and plumbing scopes
• Phased construction to keep the plant operational during the build-out
