Job Description and Duties

The Crime Analyst (CA) III is assigned to the Sacramento Human Trafficking and Sexual Predator Apprehension Team, part of the Sacramento Regional Human Trafficking Task Force. The CA III utilizes a variety of research methods and techniques to identify and analyze raw information for the purpose of substantiating criminal patterns, trends, and/or predictive analysis. The CA III is responsible for analyzing and interpreting data, performing the most complex analytical research and case support, which includes the collection, evaluation, collation, analysis, and dissemination of information from investigative activities for the purpose of generating leads for the task force. The CA III prepares reports to document investigative activities and summarize findings. The CA III will also work closely with other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, and will provide training to new sworn and non-sworn law enforcement personnel.
