Job Title: Temporary Data Scientist (SQL & Data Structuring)

Duration: 2-3 months, flexible

Location : Remote, US

About the Role:

• We are seeking a Temporary Data Scientist to support a business churn analysis effort.
• This role will focus primarily on data extraction, cleaning, and structuring, enabling us to analyze key trends.
• Ultimately, we plan to create and sustain an accessible data mart that includes several subscriber-level variables.
• The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in SQL (BigQuery) and comfortable working with large datasets in a cloud environment.
• Experience with Python for data manipulation and data visualization tools is a plus but not required.
• You will work remotely alongside an individual dedicated to leading this project, providing them with the necessary data foundation for interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Query large datasets from Google BigQuery, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Clean, structure, and transform raw data into usable formats for analysis
• Optimize SQL queries for performance and efficiency
• Collaborate closely with the project lead to understand data needs and define reporting structures
• (Nice-to-Have) Assist in running statistical analyses to determine coefficients of key variables
• (Nice-to-Have) Create dashboards or visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, or others to highlight insights. Most visualizations will be presented in PPT format using tools such as ThinkCell

Requirements:

• Must have: Strong SQL skills, with experience querying Google BigQuery or other cloud-based databases
• Experience in data cleaning, transformation, and structuring
• Ability to handle large datasets efficiently and extract meaningful insights
• (Nice-to-Have) An understanding of statistical methods and analysis
• (Nice-to-Have) Familiarity with data visualization tools
