Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pre-Op and Post-Op Dental Assistant to join our dental team. at the Children's Sedation Center of Atlanta.

This is a position for an entry-level dental assistant. Completion of a Dental Assistant Program is Required.

Hours: Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 2:30 pm

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing support to the dental staff and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow during patient care. This position involves preparing patients for procedures, assisting the lead dental assistant during treatments, and providing pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.

Pre-Operational Duties:

• Prepare and organize the treatment room before dental procedures.
• Conduct pre-operative patient assessments, including reviewing medical history and explaining procedures. 
• Ensure all instructions given before procedures have been followed.
• Ensure all dental instruments and equipment are sterilized and ready for use
• Educate patients on what to expect during their procedure to alleviate anxiety.

Post-Operational Duties:

• Provide post-operative care instructions and answer patient questions regarding recovery. 
• Ensure patient has been escorted out to transportation.
• Ensure the treatment area is clean and prepared for the next patient. 

General Responsibilities:

• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations. 
• Assist with inventory management and ordering of dental supplies as needed. 
• Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities to stay current with industry standards.
• Provide exceptional patient care and build rapport with patients to enhance their experience.
