Stealth Power is a fast-growing hybrid power technology startup located in Austin, TX. We design and build vehicle and mobile power solutions to help the largest vehicle fleets in the world run on clean energy, ending our over-reliance on fossil fuels, and working towards a fully electric future. Stealth Power is actively searching for a senior level electrical/power engineer, preferably a PE, who is motivated to help drive wider adoption of our green technologies. Our rapidly growing team needs an EE willing to jump in and take ownership of projects. The ideal candidate will have a background in automotive and/or power system engineering to allow rapid integration into projects.  

Electrical engineering responsibilities will include using CAD schematics to complete system builds, update system designs, and develop new power systems. The position works in conjunction with the technical design team to analyze existing electrical systems, conduct research, design testing methods, completing quality assurance, inspect equipment, run diagnostics, as well as effectively and efficiently troubleshoot systems. This position requires frequent travel (including short notice travel) in order to help key partners in the implementation of new/improved technology solutions.    

As part of the broader engineering team, you will support new system design, development, and rollout of Stealth Power Technology. In this position, you will get to travel to project sites to oversee development and pilot projects. While in the office, you will oversee product production efforts, conduct design and development efforts, and assist in managing project schedules. Leadership and project management skills are essential in this position as you will serve as a lead to junior engineers and electricians as well as be a Point of Contact for clients.

About This Role

  • You will rapidly integrate into the design team to oversee and participate in project design and builds. You will serve as a project manager and technical point of contact for clients.  
  • Develop technical products from requirements through completion. Tools for projects include Onshape, Visio, and Microsoft products. Build and oversee builds using CAD schematics, wiring, and drawings. You will integrate Stealth Power systems into existing vehicle systems and/or modular equipment.  
  • Conduct design reviews to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and target metrics are met. Test and troubleshoot systems. Testing occurs at our facilities and client facilities around the country.  

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, PE in Texas or reciprocal state preferred.  
  • Experience in creating and using 2D and 3D Step files using a CAD software program.  
  • 5+ years engineering experience with automotive and/or power system engineering.
  • Proven leadership skills with project management experience.  
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, motivated to help grow the business and create new solutions.  
  • Flexible schedule that allows frequent travel including short notice.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion.
