We are looking to add an Event Manager to our Clearwater team at Opal Sands and Opal Sol. Responsibilities:
Coordinate and detail meetings and conferences while maximizing the function space at Dual Properties.
- Detail complex meetings and conferences at Dual Properties with the client including: space requirements, times, setup, menus, audio visual. etc. Prepare detailed banquet event orders, coordinate with the appropriate areas in the hotel and outside vendors, collect deposits and full payments for all events, and resolve customer issues, complaints and problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Provide the highest levels of customer service to external clients and internal teams at all times. Deliver a successful experience for the planner and attendees with the goal of garnering repeat business.
- Respond in a quick, timely, and professional manner to external customers and all internal teams and deliver clear and concise communication
- Effectively and efficiently monitor and manage all aspects of the pre-event, event, and post-event details: Track, detail, and communicate the particulars of each assigned event and group - including but not limited to - room blocks, meeting space, special concessions, group history and other reports, cut-off and other key dates, contract clauses, group resumes, event orders and BEO’s, billing details, and other integral aspects of groups and events
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of corporate and hotel procedures and products
- Up-sells products and services throughout the detailing process
- Manages and coordinates all event details to promote the smooth execution of all meetings conferences at Dual Properties
- Serves as the event planner’s primary contact following turnover on property, ensuring consistent, high level service throughout the planning and event process
Other Duties:
- Participate in Pre-Cons, weekly BEO Meetings, Staff Meetings, and Sales Meetings at Dual Properties
- Maintain good working relationships within the hotels
Qualifications:
- Hospitality degree or Four-year college degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of event management experience in a hotel or convention center setting
- Requires thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the rooms, catering, food & beverage and hospitality professions.
- Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, convince, sell and influence professionals and resort clients
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent hospitality and customer service focus
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Advanced knowledge of sales and hospitality principles and practices; preferred hotel background
