Are you as good with people are you are with engines? We're looking for diesel technicians with a knack for customer service to hit the road as field service technicians.
About the Role:
As a Field Service Technician, you will be the face of our company, providing on-site maintenance and repair services to our valued customers. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing equipment in the field, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful problem-solver with a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced field environment. You will be the face of our company, ensuring customer satisfaction and minimizing equipment downtime.
Business Operating Hours/Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30 am - 5:00 pm
In this role you can expect to:
- Onsite Troubleshooting and Repair
- Travel to customer locations within a defined geographic area.
- Utilize diagnostic tools, service manuals, and technical expertise to accurately identify root causes of equipment failures at customer’s jobsite.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
- Utilize computer systems to properly troubleshoot and diagnose problems.
- Customer Communication
- Effectively communicate with customers to understand their needs, explain technical issues, and provide solutions.
- Explain service and repair work to customers while Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance
- Compliance and Documentation
- Regularly report service activities, including completed jobs, pending issues, and customer feedback, to the Central Road Services team.
- Accurately complete service reports, documenting all work performed, parts used, and time spent on each job.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing service activities.
- Maintain clean driving record

- Participate in training for the development of skills and knowledge
- Meet and exceed Key Performance Indicator (KPI) requirements, including productivity, quality, and safety standards
- Maintain the service vehicle in a clean and organized manner, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Supervisor
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma, GED, Technical or Trade School
- Acceptable Driving Record
- 5+ Years of Experience related to gasoline, diesel, natural gas, and/or electrical equipment or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge & abilities.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and working collaboratively with a team
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently
- Ability to operate vehicles, tools, and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Ability to work in all forms of weather conditions.
