Job Summary

 

This position will report to the Fleet Maintenance Manager and will supervise and coordinate activities of the maintenance technicians, welders and yard personnel. Prioritize diagnostics and repair of field drilling and construction equipment, while tracking all such activities on the Fleetio software. This role will also coordinate all activities in the maintenance department regarding preventive/predictive maintenance, installations, and modifications, to ensure all equipment is maintained in safe, efficient operating condition. This is a Monday to Friday, day shift position.

  • This location will be onsite at our facility in Fontana, CA. 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure safety of all employees and subcontractors working in the operating unit or department by driving continuous improvement towards a Culture of Safety. This includes supporting all corporate safety programs, developing and utilizing VOP’s, identifying and eliminating hazards, and enforcing all safety rules.
  • Review equipment and shop/yard related invoices in SAP.
  • Responsible for overall maintenance systems within the facility, which include predictive and preventative maintenance programs for all drilling/construction equipment and all rolling stock, developing and maintaining maintenance, repair and operations and critical spares inventory, oversee routine equipment troubleshooting and repairs and small-scale metal fabrication work that maximize operational efficiency and asset reliability.
  • Track daily driver and mechanics entries into Fleetio, our fleet management software, make entries in Fleetio as required.
  • Responsible for implementing and maintaining work request/work order system (Fleetio) for the facility and rolling stock across maintenance and production teams.
  • Direct maintenance team members in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of equipment, simple shop fabrication custom metal structures and repairs.
  • Request tools, equipment, supplies and services necessary for repairs and equipment maintenance.
  • Inspect completed work for thoroughness.
  • Communicate company policies to employees.
  • Develop, train, and enforces safety regulations to all shop, yard and maintenance personnel.
  • Implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment (includes training of personnel) to increase and continuously improve safety, efficiency and proficiency.
  • Develop self and staff to ensure personal and professional growth.
  • Manage inventory of spares and critical spares according to site business plan.
  • Lead or facilitate the development and implementation of various continuous improvement projects or processes that improve equipment maintenance methods, equipment performance and reliability.
  • Ensure all shop fabrication and repair work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

     

Job Requirements

 

  • At least 3+ years of construction equipment/facility maintenance experience, including general shop safety protocols, and basic comprehension of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
  • At least 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience with piling drill rigs( Soilmec, Spiradrill) preferred.
  • Experience with hydro excavator trucks (Gapvax, Vactor) preferred.
  • Demonstrated basic knowledge of field equipment, mechanical equipment, operations and predictive/preventative maintenance systems.
  • Knowledge of the correct application of systems and processes that ensure continuous improvement (safety, environmental, maintenance, quality and manufacturing).
  • Knowledge of industry standard equipment maintenance and repair processes.
  • Knowledge of all safety aspects and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of current management and supervisory techniques.
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Rudimentary understanding of mobile equipment mechanical and low voltage systems.
  • Ability to implement change.
  • Ability to use computer and various apps/software programs with reasonable proficiency.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
  • Ability to resolve disputes and deescalate situations. 
  • Mechanical/welding shop, warehouse and yard environment.
  • Frequent walking/standing (6+ hrs/day).
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

 

Compensation

 

  • The salary range is $80,000.00 to $85,000.00
