As a GIS Application Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping projects that transform the management and support of geospatial data for The National Map. You'll be at the forefront of developing and deploying advanced public-facing mapping applications, using your expertise to manipulate and analyze geospatial data, ensuring our applications provide precise and valuable insights. Your contributions will directly impact how geospatial data is used and experienced by users worldwide.

*This position is fully Remote*

Salary - $70,000

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related field +7 years of combined experience
• Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS Pro to import, manipulate, query, and analyze geospatial data from various sources
• Expertise in geoprocessing tools to perform spatial analysis to derive insights from geographic data
• Proficiency in utilizing SQL, preferably PostGRES, to improve both geospatial analysis and data management capabilities
• Experience in technical documentation by producing clear, user-friendly guides supporting GIS applications
• Knowledge and experience with software testing of GIS applications to ensure accurate functionality, performance, and data handling

Preferred but not required:

• Knowledge of Python, ArcPy to automate workflows and custom analysis for efficient execution
• Familiarity with operating in the AWS cloud-based computing environment
