We seek a High School Physics Teacher beginning in the 2025-26 school year. The position will be primarily teaching Physics and AP Physics C (Mechanics and Electricity & Magnetism), along with semester-long elective offerings. Our science department follows the Physics First curriculum, teaching Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, in that order. Francis Parker students learn to appreciate science as a process, rather than an accumulation of facts, and develop the tools to investigate, research, discuss, and communicate about science.
A BS (MA or Ph.D. preferred) in Physics (or related field) and 5+ years’ teaching experience are required; an understanding of Independent Schools, strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, the ability and desire to work collaboratively, and dedication to continuously developing and practicing cultural competence in one’s teaching are also essential. Extracurricular and/or athletic coaching ability is a plus. Please send a resume and cover letter to Shelly Jones, Associate Head of School - Teaching and Learning at sjones@francisparkerlouisville.org and Suzanne Gorman, Associate Head of School - Downtown Campus, at sgorman@francisparkerlouisville.org , and visit our website at for more information about the School.
