As an HR Business Partner (HRBP) at January, you’ll be instrumental in driving our people strategy and building an environment where high performers thrive. Partnering with our Head of People & Talent and leaders across the organization, you’ll align HR strategies with business goals to enhance organizational performance and employee engagement. Your role will ensure January’s culture is not just preserved as we scale, but also evolves to meet the needs of a growing, dynamic team.
Your Impact:
Strategic Business Partnering: Act as a trusted advisor to leaders and managers, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives. You’ll provide strategic guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent strategies to drive January’s mission forward.
Enhance Employee Experience: Design and implement programs that foster engagement, development, and retention. You’ll use data insights to identify trends and craft interventions that promote a high-performance culture where employees feel valued and supported.
Drive Organizational Effectiveness: Collaborate with leaders to address challenges related to team dynamics, performance, and growth. You’ll facilitate initiatives that improve communication, collaboration, and overall organizational health.
Develop Talent Excellence: Partner with the People & Talent team to create and implement learning and development programs tailored to employee needs. You’ll help leaders grow their managerial capabilities and ensure employees have clear paths for growth and advancement.
Champion Inclusion and Belonging: Lead efforts to build a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. You’ll partner with stakeholders to embed DEI principles into all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment to development.
Optimize People Operations: Collaborate with the People Ops team to refine and implement scalable HR processes. You’ll ensure compliance with labor laws, implement best practices, and leverage data to continuously improve people-related strategies and initiatives.
Build Cross-Functional Relationships: Serve as a bridge between teams, aligning HR practices with company objectives. You’ll work closely with leadership and employees to foster trust, accountability, and alignment with January’s values.
Qualifications:
Extensive HR experience: 7+ years in progressive HR roles, including experience as a strategic partner to senior leaders. Ideally, you’ve worked in high-growth tech or fast-paced environments where adaptability and innovation were key.
Strategic and operational expertise: Proven ability to balance long-term planning with day-to-day HR operations. You’re skilled at designing and executing people strategies that align with business goals while maintaining a hands-on approach.
Strong analytical skills: Experience leveraging data to drive decision-making and improve HR processes. You’re comfortable analyzing metrics related to engagement, retention, DEI, and organizational effectiveness.
Exceptional communication and relationship-building: Ability to establish trust and credibility with employees at all levels. You’re a skilled coach, communicator, and facilitator who can navigate complex conversations with empathy and professionalism.
DEI leadership: Demonstrated success in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. You’re passionate about creating an inclusive environment where all employees can thrive.
Change management expertise: Experience leading teams through periods of growth and transformation. You’re adept at designing and executing change initiatives that maintain stability while driving progress.
Adaptable and resourceful: Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments. You’re a problem solver who takes initiative and can pivot as priorities evolve.
