Description We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team in Eagle Rock, California, on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and oversee key HR functions including employee relations, compliance, and HR operations. Responsibilities: - Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and procedures that align with organizational goals and enhance employee engagement. - Manage employee relations, addressing concerns and resolving issues to promote a culture of mutual respect and open communication. - Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and compensation structures, ensuring efficient operations within budget constraints. - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as organizational policies and union agreements. - Lead collective bargaining negotiations and manage union-related HR activities, including grievances and contract interpretation. - Utilize HR systems such as Workday and other technologies to streamline operations and improve data management. - Support onboarding processes and mentor new hires to ensure smooth transitions into the organization. - Develop and execute learning and development strategies to enhance employee growth and organizational effectiveness. - Collaborate with leadership to align HR initiatives with the organization's mission and long-term objectives. - Provide guidance on labor relations and employment compliance matters to ensure adherence to regulations. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field. - At least 8 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a minimum of 3 years managing union-related HR activities. - Proven experience in labor relations, including collective bargaining and interpreting union agreements. - Previous experience working in a nonprofit environment is highly preferred. - Proficiency in HR technologies, including systems like Workday; experience with Paylocity is a plus. - Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and compliance requirements. - Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. - Demonstrated ability to develop and implement learning and development strategies to support employee growth.
