We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team in Eagle Rock, California, on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and oversee key HR functions including employee relations, compliance, and HR operations. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to organizational success while fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement HR policies, programs, and procedures that align with organizational goals and enhance employee engagement.
- Manage employee relations, addressing concerns and resolving issues to promote a culture of mutual respect and open communication.
- Oversee payroll, benefits administration, and compensation structures, ensuring efficient operations within budget constraints.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as organizational policies and union agreements.
- Lead collective bargaining negotiations and manage union-related HR activities, including grievances and contract interpretation.
- Utilize HR systems such as Workday and other technologies to streamline operations and improve data management.
- Support onboarding processes and mentor new hires to ensure smooth transitions into the organization.
- Develop and execute learning and development strategies to enhance employee growth and organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with leadership to align HR initiatives with the organization's mission and long-term objectives.
- Provide guidance on labor relations and employment compliance matters to ensure adherence to regulations.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a minimum of 3 years managing union-related HR activities.
- Proven experience in labor relations, including collective bargaining and interpreting union agreements.
- Previous experience working in a nonprofit environment is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in HR technologies, including systems like Workday; experience with Paylocity is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, labor laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement learning and development strategies to support employee growth.
