Job Description

Position Summary: The purpose of the FE2 position is to learn and demonstrate proficiency in servicing equipment with basic troubleshooting skills while applying customer satisfaction skills and demonstrating satisfactory work habits. The FE2 will work on an increasing variety of machines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All areas of responsibility listed below are essential to the satisfactory performance of this position, with reasonable accommodation, if necessary. Any non-essential functions are assumed to be included in "other related duties as assigned": Attend and pass manufacturers basic training classes. Exercise and build proficiency in servicing equipment. Learn complete assembly and disassembly procedures in the field or shop. Develop ability to work independently. Learn to logically troubleshoot machine problems utilizing all available resources. Demonstrate proficiency in equipment cleanings and PMs. To maintain, track and protect from damage all car stock and inventory that is issued. Participate with other Technicians in field training. Demonstrate acceptable verbal and written communication skills with customers and other employees. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, and provide proof of minimum auto insurance coverage as required by state law. Conforms to company guidelines on dress code and personal hygiene. Maintain a safe vehicle with secure storage for parts. Complete all types of paperwork accurately and legibly (timecards, equipment histories, service orders, etc.). Learn and use communication systems with dispatch. Read, be familiar with and maintain Field Engineering bulletins and servicing information. Participate actively in the sales lead program. Assist the sales force in accomplishing their goals through prompt and effective machine service and communication. Learn and follow current procedures for return of parts and assemblies. To act in a polite, professional manner that is beneficial to the reputation of Loffler Companies. Responsible for understanding, staying updated on, and abiding by the Employee Handbook as written. Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications/Requirements: In-office and travel to client sites as required. Independent Judgment/Decision-Making: Exercising good judgment on when to replace parts in a cost-effective manner. Know when to escalate equipment repair challenges to the Specialist or other Senior Service Technicians. Be able to work independently with little supervision. Effectively prioritize the customer needs and concerns. Prioritize importance of emergency calls, returns, incompletes and parts calls. Allow sufficient travel time for arriving to work on time. Communications/Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrates effective communication and team skills. Provides non-routine, but simple information through verbal and written communication. Cooperates with, effectively presents to and participates with peers, team members, and customers. Technical Skills: Be able to interpret a timing chart to put events in correct order. Be able to trace signals and voltages using a circuit diagram. Be able to correctly execute basic procedures to install, calibrate and configure connected devices and related options. Be able to distinguish between a machine and connectivity related problem. Problem Solving/Critical Thinking: Moderate problem solving, critical thinking skills. Performs work, identifies and resolves less clearly defined problems using established procedures and protocols as guidelines. Education/Experience: One of the following is considered acceptable: Associate degree in electronics. Armed forces training in electronics. Vocational electronics/electro-mechanical training program. Previous office equipment repair experience. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Constant bending and lifting is required. Must be able to lift 75lbs. Frequently required to use hands to handle objects, tools or controls.
