Salary: Current Salary per GTA Contract

Minimum Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold valid NYS Teacher Certification - Current GTA Member
Experience using data to improve instruction and/or behavioral support systems
Excellent skills related to communication, trust-building with people who have a variety of perspectives, organizing, project management and time management
Excellent ability to teach about equity-related topics in persuasive ways with individuals who do not already identify as equity advocates
Demonstrated ability to be a culturally responsive educator
Experience as a member of a Professional Learning Community, a school improvement team, and/or another team dedicated to instructional improvement
Desired Qualifications:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent workshop, coaching, and facilitation skills
Experience as the lead facilitator for a professional learning community
Experience as the lead facilitator for a committee related to instructional equity, student leadership, and/or restorative practices
Experience with the collection of street data
Experience using the 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX)
Knowledge of the school improvement process
Knowledge of cognitive coaching and/or instructional coaching
Position Summary/Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the development of efforts to recruit, retain, and build solidarity among equity committees
Use an equity lens and high quality protocols to aid with the development, improvement, and evaluation of professional learning committees
Create professional learning opportunities to build mutual understanding and mutual respect between members of equity committees and school improvement teams
Coach staff on how to plan, facilitate, and improve equity committee meetings at schools
Recruit individuals to serve as facilitators and/or contributors to building-level equity committees
Provide modeling and coaching to teachers who want to improve their culturally responsive education and behavioral management skills
Develop and use expertise on the 4 Disciplines of Execution (4DX) to coach members of committees related to equity and/or school improvement
Use the skills of a culturally responsive educator to address misconceptions related to the district's core values for equity (such as culturally responsive education and restorative practices)
Create and oversee a dashboard of the 4DX Model scoreboards for equity committees
Assist with the production of student engagement opportunities
Collect qualitative data from students and staff to aid with the recruitment and retention of equity committee members
Promote and help facilitate the culturally responsive education training
Create, review, and improve protocols to generate and/or restore solidarity among students and staff
Execute other tasks as assigned by the Director for Equity and Educational Research
This position may be called on to substitute in classroom(s) when the need for a daily substitute arises. In very rare cases, this position may be called upon to fulfil a vacancy in the appropriate tenure area until the vacancy can be filled.
The individual in this position may be invited to attend Summer Leadership Academy (SLA) and will be compensated at the Professional Rate ($35/hour).
