Job Description

Inventory Operations Supervisor 

The Inventory Operations Supervisor ensures the team is trained and ready to meet customer needs. This role oversees inventory systems, finds areas to improve, and helps make operations better and more efficient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily inventory control and trade compliance operations for warehouse staff and administrators.

  • Maintain accurate records for customs-controlled inventory and ensure they’re available for government review.

  • Perform regular audits of trade compliance operations, including customs filings, inventory, and recordkeeping. Resolve any issues quickly.

  • Support supply chain and logistics teams by analyzing inventory and compliance data.

  • Act as a resource for questions about import/export rules and regulations.

  • Train, mentor, and monitor warehouse employee performance.

  • Track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance warehouse operations.

  • Report daily and weekly performance, including productivity and quality metrics.

  • Take corrective action when goals are not met.

  • Use available staff and resources efficiently to minimize overtime and meet customer demand.

  • Work with leadership and HR to promote a positive and safe work environment.

  • Conduct weekly inspections to maintain a clean, safe, and professional warehouse.

  • Encourage teamwork and boost morale among warehouse staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Business, or Supply Chain preferred.

  • 3–5 years of leadership experience in a warehouse or manufacturing setting.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Basic knowledge of international shipping documents like invoices and packing lists.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and skilled at solving problems.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

  • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays when needed.

  • Physically able to walk or stand for long periods and operate warehouse equipment.
