We are seeking a highly skilled Application Architect to join our team to help with the design and re-architecture of a B2B ecommerce application. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing architectural solutions that align with our organization's technology and business strategies. You will collaborate with various teams, guiding them in building scalable, high-performing applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural design of ecommerce applications, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and meet business requirements.
  • Define development guidelines and standards to be utilized in application development and integration.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality product platform.
  • Analyze the current IT ecosystem application architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements.
  • Develop methods to integrate systems that interact and extend across organizational and functional lines.
  • Define, document, and enforce software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
  • Provide hands-on guidance and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles.
  • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure code quality and maintainability.
  • Identify and address technical risks, constraints, and dependencies throughout the application lifecycle.
  • Ensure alignment of architecture and design with the overall enterprise architecture strategy.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and optimize performance.

Required Skills & Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant software development and engineering leadership experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in architecting fault-tolerant , high-scale distributed systems.
  • Strong proficiency in designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems and microservices architecture.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud ) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with front-end and back-end development technologies, including but not limited to Java, Python, React, Angular, or similar.
  • Proven experience with data modeling, database design (SQL and NoSQL), and integration patterns.
  • Strong understanding of security, performance, and compliance requirements in application design.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in enterprise application integration and working with APIs (RESTful, GraphQL), and resilient workflow management frameworks such as Temporal.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools.
  • Prior experience in the financial services, healthcare, or e-commerce industry is a plus.
  • Certifications in cloud architecture (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) or related fields.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on driving results.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
