Overview:
SOSi is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer to support our Proposal Team. The Junior Graphic Designer supports the proposal team by producing visually engaging designs that align with brand guidelines and project objectives. Working under the guidance of a senior designer, the Junior Graphic Designer contributes fresh ideas, ensures accuracy in deliverables, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail, proficiency in design software, and a willingness to learn and adapt are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Design and produce clear, compliant, and visually compelling graphics for proposals, including process flows, timelines, organizational charts, maps, and infographics.
- Translate complex technical concepts and narrative content into easy-to-understand visual formats.
- Collaborate with proposal managers, writers, and subject matter experts to gather requirements and refine graphic concepts.
- Ensure all graphics adhere to brand guidelines, proposal compliance requirements, and RFP specifications.
- Format and integrate graphics into Microsoft Word and PowerPoint proposal documents.
- Revise and update graphics based on feedback from proposal reviewers and leadership.
- Maintain and organize a library of reusable proposal graphics, templates, and style guides.
- Prepare graphics for both print and digital submissions, ensuring correct resolution, file format, and color settings.
- Manage multiple graphics requests simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
- Support senior designers and proposal team members with additional creative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) with a strong emphasis on vector-based graphics and layout design.
- Ability to create clear, visually compelling graphics that communicate complex information, including process flows, organizational charts, timelines, and infographics.
- Understanding of design principles for readability, clarity, and compliance with brand and proposal guidelines.
- Basic knowledge of proposal development processes and the role of graphics in persuasive storytelling.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure all graphics meet RFP compliance requirements and accurately reflect technical content.
- Ability to work from rough sketches, written concepts, or input from subject matter experts to create polished, professional visuals.
- Familiarity with creating graphics for both print and digital proposal submissions, including formatting for PDF and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to receive and implement feedback from proposal managers, technical writers, and senior designers.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in creating graphics specifically for government or corporate proposals, including familiarity with compliance requirements.
- Knowledge of Shipley or other proposal development methodologies.
- Experience collaborating with proposal teams, including working with proposal managers, writers, and subject matter experts.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) for integrating graphics into proposal documents and presentations.
- Experience developing graphics under tight deadlines and in high-pressure environments.
- Understanding of branding and corporate identity application within proposals.
- Ability to simplify technical or complex subject matter into clear, visually appealing graphics.
Working Conditions:
- Working conditions as normal for an office environment with 3 days in the office with 2 days optional remote work.
- Occasional physical exertion, including lifting and/or moving objects or packages weighing up to 25 lbs.
