Job Description

Maintenance - Class C (to be trained and become Class A) Requirements:
  • Ability to install and repair all types of machinery under direction.
  • Ability to perform work such as pipe fitting, carpentry and electrical repairs.
  • May be required to operate light delivery trucks, heavy duty trucks, tractor and semi-trailer, and other engine powered equipment.
  • Must have at least one or more years’ mechanical or electrical work experience; a combination of both is preferred.
To become a Maintenance - Class A:
  • Must be able to set up and repair all types of machinery – including welding, wiring and repair of electrical equipment.
  • Must be able to read blueprints.
  • Must be able to do carpentry work, plumbing and pipefitting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment using PLC’s and other programmable automation devices.
  • Ability to diagnose and correct issues without any supervision.
  • Considerable mechanical ability required.
  • Must provide at his/her own expense tools necessary to perform the job as listed in this department.
  • Must have four or more years' mechanical or electrical work experience; a combination of both is preferred.
PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THE JOB: To provide maintenance and service to the manufacturing facilities and grounds.  Supervision received from Maintenance Supervisor; direction may be received from higher class level maintenance personnel.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Basic tools and equipment plus forklift trucks, maintenance tools and equipment and maintenance vehicles.
MATERIAL: Fabrication materials, replacement parts, lubricants, cleaners, fuels, and other materials utilized in maintenance type work.
WORKING PROCEDURE: Required to utilize education, training and job experience to
perform job responsibilities. May require direction and/or assistance of higher-class level maintenance personnel.  Required to satisfactorily complete training in accordance with Du-Co Ceramics Company training format.  Required to progress in accordance with Maintenance Department Apprenticeship Program.

Pay rate:
Machinist - Class C = $22.02/hour 
Machinist - Cass B = $23.28/hour
Machinist - Class A = $25.85/hour
