We boldly go. **Job Summary:** This role supports manufacturing functions for Commercial HVAC products at Trane's Fort Smith, Arkansas facility. The Manufacturing Engineer I will assist with complex technical issues and finding rapid solutions. They will support lean activities and process improvements through the planning, facilitation, and implementation of projects in alignment with strategic goals and metrics for plant safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. The Manufacturing Engineer I is also responsible for the implementation and validation of new equipment and processes throughout the business to improve plant performance using advanced engineering techniques such as DFM / DFA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly), FMEA, 3P (Production, Preparation Process), 7-Ways, and Lean Six Sigma Methodology **What's** **in it for you: **   **Be a part of our mission!**   As a world leader in creating comfortable, sustainable, and efficient environments, it's our responsibility to put the planet first. If the answer is yes, we invite you to consider joining us in boldly challenging what's possible for a sustainable world.  **Responsibilities:** + Project Capital planning, Business Case creation + Assists in managing 5-Gate projects including Business Case, Capital, Expense, and resources to assure milestones are met timely and within the approved budget and resource plan + Drives productivity and business growth through problem solving, coaching, and training + Conduct tests or trials of tools, equipment, and processes + Create and update Standard Work Charts, JBSs, Work Instructions, PFMEAs + Evaluate production capacities + Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices on safety and ergonomic improvements. + Lead problem solving projects to support the shop floor and develop new or improved tools and processes (workstation design, material presentation, etc.) + Create reports and presentations to update stakeholders and management on project status and progress + Track and report productivity impacts of projects + Coordinates with resources throughout the larger organization to achieve strategic goals and participate in a cooperative effort to support the company's goal + General duties to work with the operations team driving root cause and corrective actions for issues pertaining to safety, quality, and customer delivery driving the implementation - Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering fundamentals. **Key Competencies:** + Ability to be a group leader of cross-functional teams + Ability to work with widely varying personalities + Extensive computer skills: Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) + Capable of analyzing data in order to make data driven conclusions and decisions + 3D Modeling and design (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD) + Ability to create drawings in compliance with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 + Ability to conduct various types of structural analysis using by-hand and computer assisted methods + Extensive understanding and ability to utilize engineering principles to support the development of robust manufacturing processes + Fundamental understanding of electrical power + Fundamental understanding industrial automation and controls systems **Qualifications:** + Manufacturing Engineering internship within a manufacturing environment + Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or other Engineering field required (offer may be contingent upon graduation within 6 months + Experience with Automation, robotics, and mechanical controls related projects + Some travel (approximately 10%) may be required **Thrive at work and at home: **   + Benefits kick in on DAY ONE for you and your family, including health insurance and holistic wellness programs that include generous incentives - WE DARE TO CARE!    + Family building benefits include fertility coverage and adoption/surrogacy assistance.    + 401Kmatch up to 6%, plus an additional 2% core contribution = up to 8% company contribution.     + Paid time off, including in support of volunteer and parental leave needs.       + Educational and training opportunities through company programs along with tuition assistance and student debt support.     + Learn more about our benefits here ( !   **Where is the work:** This position has been designated as **On** **-Site.**   **Compensation:** **  **   Base Pay Range: $ 65,000-$75,000 Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages.
