As a Mortgage Consultant, you'll be at the forefront of our mortgage lending operations, connecting with members, understanding their needs, and helping them secure the perfect financing for their dream homes. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine your sales expertise with your desire to help others, all while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. This position is fully remote and will drive mortgage lending in western Oakland and Washtenaw counties.
Here's a Glimpse of Your Day-to-Day:
Create a positive and memorable experience for every member you interact with.
Process new loan applications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all relevant regulations, investor guidelines, and internal policies.
Excel at consultative phone selling, prospecting, and providing exceptional member service. You'll be connecting with members through inbound and outbound calls, utilizing various lead sources to build your pipeline.
Master the art of persuasive sales and effective follow-up to maximize your success.
Use a consultative approach, asking insightful questions to understand member needs and offering tailored solutions that highlight the benefits and value of our products and services.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external referral sources, including real estate agents, builders, and developers, to generate new business.
Collaborate with branch teams to strengthen relationships and drive mortgage loan growth. You'll communicate updates and provide recommendations for identifying new opportunities.
Manage your pipeline effectively, ensuring timely follow-up and achieving conditional approvals within established timeframes.
Provide clear and consistent communication to applicants, keeping them informed throughout the loan process.
What You Bring to the Table:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and other relevant software.
Familiarity with secondary mortgage market underwriting, pricing, operations, and requirements, as well as consumer lending regulations.
Essential Preparation and Experience:
High school diploma or GED.
One of the following:
1 year of mortgage origination experience.
2 years of mortgage banking experience or relevant lending experience in other roles.
Associate's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Accounting, or Finance.
3 years of analytical finance experience.
NMLS licensure is highly preferred.
