Job Description

Job Purpose:

Are you passionate about helping people achieve their homeownership dreams? We are looking for a motivated Mortgage Loan Officer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will report directly to the Mortgage Sales Manager and play a key part in providing exceptional service to our clients.

This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work environment, allowing you to work from home or from one of our office locations. Please note that some travel will be required to meet with clients and attend meetings.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Identify and connect with potential clients seeking residential mortgage solutions.
- Proactively convert both inbound and outbound sales leads into successful applications.
- Assess clients' financial needs and recommend the best product and rate program combinations.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales performance goals.

Essential Functions:

- Solicit, originate, negotiate, secure, and process residential mortgage loans.
- Provide guidance and support to loan applicants throughout the process.
- Collect necessary information and documentation from applicants and other parties.
- Communicate interest rates, points, and fees related to loans.
- Monitor loan application statuses, keeping applicants informed every step of the way.
- Coordinate the loan processing and closing procedures.
- Address questions from applicants and assist in resolving any closing-related disputes.
- Share information about available loan products, pricing, and services with real estate professionals.
- Attend meetings and presentations to enhance knowledge and build relationships within the industry.
- Prepare reports, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of loan files and document retention.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in managing and negotiating loans in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with loan processing guidelines, including those from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA.
- Solid understanding of standard loan practices, documentation, and real estate terminology.
- Strong knowledge of the mortgage market.
- Proficiency in Chinese (Mandarin) is preferred.
- Must be based in California.

Compensation:

- Annual salary range: $52,000 - $200,000, with commission pay (1099).
