Job Description The Occupational, Environmental and Product Quality Toxicology (OEPQT) team within DSRE provides toxicology risk assessments supporting Takeda’s Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and pharmaceutical manufacturing functions that will assist with specification setting, manufacturing site selection, appropriate containment and controls, maintaining product quality attributes, and employee and patient safety. This position is for a remote intern toxicologist in the Drug Safety Research and Evaluation (DSRE) group at Takeda. In this role the candidate will contribute to data collection, storage, and analysis for use in toxicology risk assessments supporting Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Pharmaceutical Sciences, and manufacturing functions within Takeda. This includes toxicology support for impurity qualifications, extractables and leachables, environmental risk assessments (ERA), permitted daily exposure limits (PDEs), and other health-based exposure limits (HBELs). This position will support programs across Takeda’s therapeutic areas and across all stages of development from early discovery to marketed products. The assessments will span Takeda’s core modalities. In this role the candidate is expected to be able to work with minimal supervision on data collection, storage, and analysis supporting toxicology product risk assessments and to become familiar with regulatory guidance documents and industry trends as they relate to these assessments that support EHS, PharmSci, and manufacturing activities. The person must be scientifically independent and able to articulate implications and risks from toxicology assessments to a broad audience.
