You will be responsible to process/prepare/dispense prescriptions through the pharmacy system including adjudication of claims to third party insurance plans, proper documentation and record retention, for the filling of medication orders timely and accurately, and selecting the proper drug, dosage form, strength and quantity. You will monitor patient profiles and perform a drug utilization review for medication appropriateness, duplicate therapy, side effects, drug interactions, etc. Throughout the work period you will be stationed at the drop-off/pick-up windows, phone station, and various filling/checking counters in the pharmacy. You will also provide timely appropriate communication to all patients, prescribers, pharmacists, nurses and pharmacy support staff for all activities including proper customer service, patient/employee safety, operational/schedule needs, inventory control, etc. Administer Injectables/Vaccines when applicable. Possess the ability to perform the Physical/Working Requirements within a pharmacy/delivery area. Maintain appropriate security of the pharmacy while on duty and follow all health system policies, state and federal laws. Assume management responsibility of the pharmacy in the absence of the pharmacy manager. Travel to and staff all HUP pharmacy sites based on operational need. Verify, prepare and dispense medications using appropriate techniques to ensure positive outcomes of drug therapies and compliance with national and health system's policies and procedures. ?
