Job Description

Job Overview:

The Pharmacy Operations Manager is responsible for supporting the Director of Pharmacy and Assistant Director of Pharmacy in managing the pharmacy operations of the RWJUH oncology service line,

This includes implementation and enforcement of policies and procedures, supervision and training of staff, inventory management, quality assurance and regulatory compliance. The Operations Managers shall also assist in managing the pharmacy when the Pharmacy Director is unavailable. They ensure that the RWJUH oncology satellite operations are in compliance with all applicable policies, laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy from an ACPE accredited school required,
  • Current NJ Pharmacy License required,
  • NJ Board Registration required
  • Prior working oncology training and experience required,

Preferred:

  • Minimum of one year accredited pharmacy residency strongly preferred,
  • Prior pharmacy management experience preferred,

Essential Functions:

  • Provides oversight of staff schedules,
  • Responsible for writing the pharmacist schedule and corresponding time cards
  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of pharmacy operations,
  • Ensures daily operations and distributive processes are effective and safe,
  • Responsible for the development and review of pharmacy policies and procedures and education to Pharmacy staff of policies and procedures
  • Works with the Pharmacy Director to identify and develop processes to meet or exceed all controlled substance diversion prevention and monitoring standards,
  • Participates in controlled substance reviews and audits,
  • Develops and participates in training for pharmacists and residents,
  • Develops and documents staff competency on an ongoing basis and develops improvement plans wen deficiencies are identified
