Job Description

PLANT MANAGER - Large Equipment Manufacturing

We are looking for a hands-on, positive & collaborative Plant Manager with experience in large equipment Manufacturing & Assembly for our client near Johnson City, TN.

Key Requirements

  • BS in Engineering with knowledge of mechanical engineering principles (Required).
  • 8+ years of Plant Manager experience leading a large equipment Assembly & Manufacturing operation.
  • Experience leading a team of 250+.
  • Must be a hands-on, strong, collaborative leader who can motivate & engage others & work well cross-functionally.
  • Must have critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Ability & experience in speaking effectively in front of diverse groups of employees.
  • Ability to receive & provide effective constructive feedback.
  • Ability to travel occasionally within the US, Canada & Mexico
  • Must live in the US & be a US Citizen or have a green card in hand.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management team in all aspects of the plant, including Safety, Quality, Production, on-time delivery, People & Process Improvement.
  • Create & sustain a culture of Safety. Work collaboratively across functions to reduce accidents and injuries.
  • Ensure that the plant complies with all local rules/regulations for Safety & Environmental.
  • Mentor/coach the plant Leadership team to ensure the success and growth of the staff.
  • Work through the Production management team to meet the corporate goals for basing, billing, units in process, efficiency and inventory turns.
  • Communicate to all levels of the organization to help accomplish the corporate goals, which include D365, 5S, Problem Solving, and leadership development.
  • Work with Production Support on 5S, manufacturing engineering, and process improvement.
  • Lead with a participative & engaging style to value & capitalize on the strengths of the team members.
  • Sponsor and support the Quality team to ensure product quality. This includes root cause analysis of issues & warranties.
  • Develop & recommend Capital Improvement projects.
  • Ensure there is an inclusive culture that values diversity.
  • Be a role model to others & behave in a way that actively supports & promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace
