About the Role
As a Principal Sales Engineer, you will be the technical face of the company, engaging with potential customers to demonstrate how AI-driven solutions can transform their workflows. You'll define the GTM strategy for commercial markets, manage the sales process, and help shape product offerings based on customer needs.
This role requires someone who thrives at the intersection of sales, technology, and strategy, with deep expertise in AI, data platforms, and enterprise sales.
What You'll Do
Act as a trusted advisor, translating technical concepts into clear business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Develop and execute a GTM strategy to position AI solutions in commercial R&D markets.
Manage full sales cycles—from lead generation to deal closure in both commercial and federal sectors.
Use your knowledge of Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreements to close deals with DoD agencies.
Provide accurate sales forecasting, reporting, and performance tracking.
Work with the CEO and product teams to refine the product roadmap based on market demands.
Identify new markets and customer segments in industries such as biotech, fintech, manufacturing, and healthcare.
Lead technical pre-sales activities, including proof-of-concept development, demos, and RFP responses.
Guide customers through AI/ML implementation, data integration, and security requirements to ensure seamless adoption.
What We're Looking For
6-10+ years of experience in technical sales, solutions engineering, or sales engineering, ideally within AI, data platforms, or SaaS.
Proven experience in GTM strategy development, including sales enablement and revenue generation.
Experience selling R&D software solutions in defense or commercial sectors, with deal sizes between $250K - $1M ACV.
Strong background in federal sales and OTA agreements, with experience closing deals up to $5M.
Hands-on expertise in AI/ML workflows, databases, and analytics.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineers and executives.
Security clearance eligibility (if required).
Entrepreneurial mindset—self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments with minimal oversight.
