Job Description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health care to patients, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for our patients in various settings, including inpatient and urgent care environments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
  • Provide medication management and monitor patient responses to treatments.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate care for patients.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with regulations.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options.
  • Participate in emergency room consultations as needed.
  • Address the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and adults in various settings, including home care.

Skills

  • Experience in inpatient psychiatric settings is preferred.
  • Familiarity with emergency room protocols and urgent care practices.
  • Knowledge of pain management techniques relevant to psychiatric care.
  • Proficiency in using Athenahealth or similar electronic health record systems.
  • Understanding of ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a mental health capacity is a plus.
  • Ability to provide dermal fillers as part of aesthetic treatments is advantageous but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Compassionate approach to patient care with a focus on building therapeutic relationships.
