Position Summary

• Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes.
• Establishes best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design.
• Evaluates proposed theoretical results to meet design requirements.
• Serves as a technical expert to other employees to solve complex system equations and develops custom equations to simplify complex problems by using advanced engineering tools.
• Serves as a technical expert by coaching, developing, and reviewing work from other employees.
• Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross- disciplinary teams.
• Significantly contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions.
• Work across multiple teams located in different countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, India).
• Work close to the Mechanical Engineering team, Systems Engineer, and the Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC).

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
• Completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
• 5 years of experience in R&D is preferred.
• Experience in design of complex systems solutions including several engineering disciplines for Oil & Gas, mining and/or aerospace industry.
• Experience in designing solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multiple disciplines.
• Experience in designing solutions for well intervention applications involving multiple disciplines.
• Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers as needed.
• Experience defining requirements and reviewing proposals from third party (manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers).
• Knowledge and experience in Risk Assessment, FMEA, other reliability tools.
• Advanced knowledge of SolidWorks and Ansys (CAD and FEA).
• Advanced knowledge to apply principles of mechanics (static and dynamic), hydraulics, and materials.
• Experience in mechanical design, fluid mechanics, structural analysis, and/or material science.
• Knowledge and working experience in oil field equipment.
• Knowledge in designing system automation using robotics is desirable.
