Position Description

The Sample Manager will work within the Analysis Service team and manage all aspects involving the receipt, inspection, sorting, storage, discard, and shipment of customer samples.

Primary Responsibilities

• Coordinate and/or execute activities for the receipt, handling, storage, and life cycle management of customer samples, in support of testing timelines.

• Receive and perform visual inspection and barcode verification of customer samples.

• Ensure samples match the sample manifest, identify sample ID deviations, follow-up with Lab Coordinator/Project Coordinators for customer resolution.

• Establish and maintain freezer inventory for storage for all samples and track the locations in LIMS.

• Sort and aliquot randomized samples, as needed to support Analysis Service.

• Retrieve samples for processing in accordance with the laboratory production schedule, return samples to designated storage locations.

• Perform physical inventory and volume checks of customer samples, as required.

• Responsible for the preparation, documentation, and return shipment of customer samples, as required.

• Main point of contact for cold storage monitoring system.

• Review, update and identify the need for establishing new SOPs for sample management procedures.

• Properly handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials according to OSHA and Olink procedures.

Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor’s degree within the Life Science field or similar.
• Proactive, self-motivated and detailed oriented approach to work.
• Ability and interest to work across teams and disciplines.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day tasks.
• Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a customer-friendly way.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Experienced user of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
