Job Title: Security Guard (Class II)
Job Type: Full-Time
Duties:
Provide regular and supervisory guard services to cover all designated posts at the USGS National Center.
Patrol facility areas to ensure the safety and security of assets, staff, and visitors.
Enforce access control measures, monitoring building entrances and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized entry.
Respond to security incidents, emergencies, and unusual activities following established protocols.
Operate surveillance, alarm, and communication systems, reporting any malfunctions or irregularities.
Document all patrols, incidents, and daily activities in logs and shift reports.
Provide security oversight during special events and public engagements.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent, with at least two years of experience in security services, law enforcement, or facility protection.
Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to patrol various environments, including outdoor areas and multi-level facilities.
Strong observational and communication skills.
Physical fitness to perform duties such as patrolling, standing for extended periods, and responding swiftly to emergencies.
Familiarity with operating surveillance and alarm systems.
Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
