Job Description

Red Bull North America’s Media Network is seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager for its Red Bull Media Network Editorial team. The role involves leading the U.S. Editorial team in crafting outstanding stories across various media formats, including social media, long-form content, standalone print publications, series, and podcasts, among others. This is a newly created position within Red Bull’s world-class production team.

At Red Bull Media Network, our mission is to create, distribute, and publish compelling Red Bull content. Our content must grab the audience’s attention in just one sentence, offer substance that keeps them engaged from start to finish, and provide entertainment value that makes it shareable with their family and friends.

The ideal candidate should have a sharp eye for transforming media goals into high-quality content, backed by a deep understanding of storytelling. This role will involve working in collaboration with teams across all Red Bull Media Network platforms and defining the editorial strategies that elevate our content to be among the best in the world.

As the Senior Manager of U.S. Editorial, the candidate will oversee an editorial team while working cross-functionally with Red Bull Media Network teams at the regional, national, and global levels. The role’s primary focus is driving the narrative for all types of content creation within the U.S. Media business. This involves enhancing the quality and innovation of our content, aligning with Red Bull’s marketing objectives, resonating with target audiences, building lasting brand connections, and ultimately contributing to the increased sales of Red Bull products.

    They will ensure that all forms of content are captivating, align with Red Bull North America’s marketing objectives, and appeal to our target audience.

    Additionally, they will serve as a key resource for other media network departments, providing expertise on story development by creating compelling hooks and substantive content that enhances performance.

  • Passionate about contributing to content creation personally when required, including crafting features and cover stories.

    Elevate the quality of our content by serving as the editorial research and background story development team, transforming stories from good to exceptional.

    Assess emerging editorial opportunities to collaborate effectively across teams within the U.S. organization (e.g., assisting the Athlete team with athlete page content and developing in-depth storytelling for priority athletes).

    Act as an “editorial/storytelling center of excellence” to support various parts of the organization, offering content strategy, execution advice, and guidance as needed.

  • Responsible for overseeing a small editorial team, including both internal staff and external contributors such as freelance writers, who produce content for various media platforms within Red Bull Media Networks.

EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years of professional experience in the journalism industry.
  • Proven expertise in managing editorial teams, including both in-house staff and freelance contributors.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Strong ability to convey and maintain an on-brand tone of voice in both writing and editing.
  • Extensive experience in stakeholder management across local and global teams, as well as collaboration with cross-functional departments and project teams.
  • Deep passion for monitoring editorial trends in the media industry and applying them effectively within an organization.
  • A creative and strategic thinker who is self-driven and capable of inspiring teams.
  • Proven ability to produce engaging, on-brand content quickly and in alignment with organizational goals.
  • Expertise in handling multiple editorial projects, meeting tight deadlines, and thriving in fast-paced environments while maintaining a strong attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills for collaboration across departments.
  • Advanced proficiency in publishing workflows, content management systems (CMS), and digital publishing tools.
  • Strong understanding of social media practices, SEO strategies, and digital content analytics.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
