Job Description

A top hedge fund based in New York is looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to their Trade Operations Technology team. The fund manages more than $50 billion in total assets and executes more than 10 million trades per day across various strategies including fundamental equities, systematic equities, L/S credit, systematic credit, global macro, and commodities.

Current systems are built in Java, so the ideal candidate will have a strong track record in building post-trade systems in Java, executive presence and ability to manage projects and prior experience working in a fast-paced hedge fund environment. The firm is growing significantly so this individual will lead large-scale development and enhancement projects, and will have dotted lines to key executive level stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Own systems and processes related to post-trade capture
• Lead innovation focused development projects focused on improving the funds trade processing and settlement ability in Java
• Assist in the migration to a fully cloud based environment
• Build API's to replace stored procedures and reduce dependency of legacy databases
• Architect trading software engines using Java

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering in the financial services industry
• Proven track record in trading focused Java development
• Experience mentoring and guiding junior level developers
• Strong communication skills to work with stakeholders in a fast paced environment
