Special Education Teacher (LBS1 Required)
Under the supervision of the Principal, the Teacher provides students with educational and behavioral programs that will enable them to reach their fullest educational potential, while rebuilding their self-esteem. Position may supervise the Paraprofessional Aide.

QualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Education: REQUIRED, master's preferred. Minimum two (2) years' teaching experience with students having special needs within a special education, hospital, or therapeutic setting is highly preferred. Strong knowledge of educational, child development, and classroom teaching/management theories. Good understanding of educational and therapeutic interventions REQUIRED.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: A valid Illinois PEL - REQUIRED. Special Education - LBS1 (Learning Behavior Specialist) Unlimited certification - REQUIRED.
